Sterling Silver is a porky, hot and sympathetic navigator from Zircon. His life is going nowhere until he meets Handmade Necklace, a podgy, beautiful woman with a passion for bird watching.

Sterling takes an instant disliking to Handmade and the controlling and wild ways she learnt during her years in Emerald.

However, when a dragon tries to frame Sterling, Handmade springs to the rescue. Sterling begins to notices that Handmade is actually rather virtuous at heart.

But, the pressures of Handmade's job as a mechanic leave her blind to Sterling's affections and Sterling takes up reading to try an distract herself.

Finally, when scheming police officer, Bracelet Earrings, threatens to come between them, Handmade has to act fast. But will they ever find the passionate love that they deserve?
