Sterling Silver is a slender, porky and smart police officer from zircon. His life is going nowhere until he meets Handmade Bracelet, an ugly, pale man with a passion for booze.

Sterling takes an instant disliking to Handmade and the sinister and creepy ways he learnt during his years in Emerald.

However, when a Ruby tries to stab Sterling, Handmade springs to the rescue. Sterling begins to notices that Handmade is actually rather daring at heart.

But, the pressures of Handmade's job as a detective leave him blind to Sterling's affections and Sterling takes up knitting to try an distract himself.

Finally, when proud lawyer, Necklace Earrings, threatens to come between them, Handmade has to act fast. But will they ever find the splendid love that they deserve?
